The UBC Departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Pediatrics collaborated on the development of an umbrella program for graduate student training in Women+ and Children’s Health Sciences (WACH), which launched in 2022. This WACH program is the only interdisciplinary MSc and PhD training program in BC and in Canada in women+ and children’s health sciences research. This program builds on the strengths of its faculty members, whose research encompasses biomedical, clinical, health services, and population health. The WACH program also encourages professional development through its Enhanced Scholar program, comprised of a Competency Passport, use of an individual development plan, and peer mentorship.
