How do we move digital health innovations from evidence into real-world implementation?

Join us on June 25 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM PT for a virtual panel on From Evidence to Implementation: Scaling Digital Health Innovations.

Hosted by BCCHR and WHRI, this session brings together speakers working at the intersection of research, implementation, and digital health innovation:

• Dr. Lori Brotto, President and Founder of eSense. Internationally recognized leader in sexual health research will share perspectives from scaling evidence-based interventions that have influenced practice internationally.
• Dr. Patricia Janssen, Founder of SmartParent and Professor at UBC will speak to the journey of building and implementing Canada’s first prenatal and parent education program delivered by text messaging.
• Dr. Geoffrey Cundiff, Cofounder of Amara Theraputics and Professor at UBC will share insights from translating research into digital therapeutics and advancing innovations toward implementation.

Together, the panel will explore the journey of moving research into practice, including experiences with commercialization, fundraising, partnerships, and navigating funding pathways. The discussion will also highlight how this work requires developing new skills, such as fundraising, that are not typically part of traditional research training.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

• Describe key challenges and considerations in scaling and commercializing digital health innovations
• Understand the role of fundraising, partnerships, and funding pathways in moving research into implementation
