Shark Tank

The Science of Birth Shark Tank is a friendly, internal forum where graduate students and early-career researchers can safely “test-fly” their ideas and receive high-quality feedback from experienced clinicians and researchers.

Unlike the TV show, our Shark Tank is collaborative, not cut-throat. It’s designed to help emerging researchers strengthen their work before submitting to conferences, funders, or journals.

Participants can use the session to:

  • Clarify research questions and study design
  • Strengthen the narrative and positioning of grant proposals
  • Think through equity, implementation, and real-world impact
  • Receive constructive feedback from a panel of supportive “sharks” who want to see the project succeed

Unlike the Shark Tank or Dragon’s Den TV shows, our Shark Tank is collaborative, not cut‑throat. The atmosphere is light-hearted and welcoming. The advice is serious, thoughtful and practical.
