Extensive use of smart phones makes speech recording a potentially practical solution for widespread mental health screening In collaboration with computer scientists, Dr. Hamideh Bayrampour and her team aim to explore whether speech assessment will have utility for diagnosis of depression and anxiety among pregnant persons. In this project, artificial intelligence-enabled machine learning techniques will be used to analyze speech characteristics such as tone, pace, pitch, modulaton, volume and hesitation o detect major depressive disorders and anxiety during pregnancy
