Clinical Exercise Physiologist
Tara is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP-CEP) with a High Performance Specialization. She is also a member of the BC Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) and holds her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology through UBC. Tara is certified in manual techniques that she uses alone and, alongside Pilates and movement training, helping clients move most optimally. She is a certified Fascial Stretch Therapist (FST level 1 - Stretch to Win), certified in Soft Tissue Release, Pilates Mat (Canadian Pilates Institute), Pilates Equipment (Reformer 1, 2, and 3, Chair, Tower, Barrels through Balanced Body), and Functional Movement Screening (FST level 1). Tara encourages lifelong enjoyment in movement and aims to guide others find the tools to help them achieve just that. Some common issues that Tara works with are musculoskeletal conditions and related pain, postural evaluation and education, rehabilitation and functional re-training. As a mother of two young children, she has a particular interest in supporting and helping parents care for their bodies through the journey of pregnancy and postpartum. As such, Tara continues to educate herself further in the pre and postnatal field.
